Manor Hotel Compost their food waste

The Manor Hotel West Bexington is a classic Engish seaside country hotel offering sumptuous accomodation and delicious food in a stunning south coast setting. By using a Ridan composter on site they can save expensive waste collection costs and use the compost produced to enrich their garden soil.

Composting Food Waste in Prison

Channings Wood prison are now using two large Ridan Composters to recycle all of their food waste on site. With over 1,100 people on site every day there is a great deal of food about, in fact over 2 tonnes of food waste is being composted every month!

Farms for City Children are so pleased with their first Ridan composting system which is in use at their Devon farm, that they have decided to install a second Ridan system at their Pembrokeshire farm as well!

Barry Searle from Nethercott house is so impressed with how well the Ridan works and how easy it is to use that he has advised other Farms for City Children branches to adopt the same system. These farms offer inner city children the chance to live and work on a real farm, learn about the natural world and where their food comes from, so learning about recycling food waste to grow more food is part of their education, naturally! National Trust Chartwell choose Ridan to recycle their food waste

National Trust Chartwell have a very popular restaurant on site, supplying food and drink to visitors as they explore this historic house and garden on the Kent/Surrey border. Vast quantities of fresh prep waste are produced along with a whole range of other food waste from teabags to tuna sandwiches. Rather than seeing this as a problem, clever National Trust staff identified it as an opportunity to produce some rich compost for the extensive gardens.

Ridan composting systems don't use any power at all to recycle food waste into compost, so the choice was easy, however due to the vast volumes of food waste produced three Ridans were installed. This also offers flexibility as one or two units can be left dormant in the off season.

The three Ridan in vessel composters at Chartwell are installed between the car park and the restaurant where visitors can see what is going on and learn about on-site food waste recycling.

Businesses want to recycle their food waste to save our planet and some money.

During the last few weeks more and more Ridans have been installed, we started in the deep south with Schumacher College in Dartington, next came Lee Abbey near Lynton north Devon, then Franche Primary School in Kidderminster which is north for us and next week we are taking one to Charleston Academy Inverness, now that's north! We have also installed a Ridan in the Far East, Isle of Grain, Kent and the Wild West, National Trust Lanhydrock Cornwall, is that nationwide?

King Edward VI Community College, Totness start composting on site

KEVICC as it is known, have just installed a Ridan to compost food waste from their state of the art cashless catering facility. With a fantastic, productive old walled garden which is put to good use the compost will be in great demand.
