The Award Winning Colstoun Cookery School is located in the heart of East Lothian, just outside the historic town of Haddington. Situated on the 2000 acre Colstoun Estate, the cookery school is surrounded by 900 acres of organic farmland and 1000 acres of forestry.
Colstoun’s aim is to be the most environmentally friendly Cookery School in the United Kingdom, we embrace sustainable energy, grow as much produce as we can, have strict policies regarding energy use, and are constantly striving to reduce waste.  Our Ridan composter allows us to recycle and reuse all our kitchen scraps, gardening scraps, weeds, cardboard, and paper.  We produce the most wonderfully rich compost which is then used within the Walled Garden to grow more fruit and vegetables.  Thanks to our Ridan, and our strict recycling policy we produce less waste than a family of four.
