We are a busy climbing centre open 7 days a week – We have been using the Ridan here for about four years, it gets used every day, both café and kitchen wastes goes into it, as well as food from staff and from compost caddies of customers food waste. It has been a great and efficient composting system for us! We use the compost to feed our vegetable plots which in turn grow food for our kitchen. The food waste is composted much more quickly than if we were to use just compost bays, and so much less mucky than if we had to turn it ourselves, especially with how much goes through it on a daily basis!
It has been great to show how all catering food waste can be recycled and show people the full cycle of food waste to compost to feeding new crops.
