Zero waste to landfill is the ambitious target set by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply for their impressive UK head office.
The UK headquarters of CIPS are based in a stunning Georgian period property within the picturesque village of Easton-on-the-Hill which is approximately two miles to the south west of Stamford. Zero waste to landfill is the target and installing a Ridan Pro 400 food waste composter food waste recycling system will take care of all organic waste produced on site.
Situated within extensive grounds and gardens surrounding the offices, the Ridan system will process all food waste produced by office staff and catering as well as garden waste such as dead leaves and grass cuttings. The resultant compost will be valued for its nutrition within the gardens.
The Carbon Trust offer Zero Waste to Landfill certification for businesses who wish to do the same.
The British Standards Institute, BSI also offer ISO 14001 a certification standard for improved environmental performance within businesses.
